Church Planting Essentials – Living in Community as the Body of Christ

Church Planting Essentials – Living in Community as the Body of Christ

For the past few months I have been personally involved in a study of the Biblical relationships that should exist in the Body of Christ. In my opinion, if we obeyed only these commands, it would revolutionize our churches. We have started sharing these commands with new churches. New churches are encouraged to makes these verses part of their core values.

Many of you have heard me speak about the 39 One-Another passages. The following includes these passages, plus those that reference “each other”, “your neighbor” and “your bother”, for a total of 77 distinctive commands related to Living in Community as the Body of Christ. Let me know if you have found other references you think should be included in this list.

By the way, these commands are also relevant for family life.  My wife, Jan, and I are working these as a part of our relationship with each other, our parents, our children, and our grand children.  Challenging!

I hope the following is as challenging and encouraging to you as it has been to me.

Blessings!
